Tragic Collision Claims Life of Bangladeshi in Malaysia

A heartbreaking accident in Kuala Lumpur has resulted in the death of a young Bangladeshi man, linked to suspected drunk driving. The collision took place on the Maju Expressway (MEX) shortly after the victims exited the airport, transforming what should have been a simple ride into a horrific tragedy.

The deceased, 22-year-old Muzahid Millad, was in an e-hailing vehicle with his wife when they were suddenly impacted by another car. The force of the collision caused him severe head trauma, leading to his death at the scene.

Details from police investigations reveal that the crash involved a Ford Fiesta and a Perodua Alza, the latter operated as an e-hailing service. Early inquiries indicate the Ford Fiesta, driven by a 31-year-old military personnel, veered into the opposite lane before colliding head-on with the victim’s vehicle.

Law enforcement officials have detained the military officer, who will be held in custody for five days for further investigation. A court authorized this remand following a police application, recognizing the incident's serious consequences.

A breathalyser examination of the driver revealed that his blood alcohol content exceeded legal limits. Conversely, subsequent tests confirmed no narcotics in his system, underscoring alcohol as the key issue in this tragedy.

Several other individuals sustained injuries in the crash. The victim's wife, aged 20, is currently hospitalized, while the e-hailing driver and the military officer, alongside his female passenger, were also injured.
