Jewelry designer Farah Khan Ali has commemorated her late mother, former actress Zarine Khan, who sadly passed away on November 7 at the age of 81.
On Instagram, Farah shared a poignant video featuring Zarine singing Aaj Jane Ki Zid Na Karo by Farida Khanum, serenading Love Me Tender while on a shikara, and dancing with Farah to O Haseena Zulfonwale Jane Jahan. The video captures Zarine’s heartfelt message about family, where she expressed, “Family is wealth. You must always remain united, regardless of whether I’m here or not. Always remember, nobody can replace your family.”
In her post, Farah wrote, “To my mother, my soulmate, the woman who filled countless lives with her love, warmth, and brilliance. Your absence will be deeply felt because no one will ever compare to you. Your legacy will continue to inspire many, and I pledge to walk in your footsteps to keep our family united always.”
Reactions to the post poured in from celebrities like Dia Mirza, who referred to Zarine as “a precious person” and lauded her “legacy of love and kindness.” Priyanka Chopra added her thoughts with a simple, “Angel.”
Farah's sister, Sussanne Khan, also shared a touching message, referring to their mother as her “guiding light” and “best friend.”
Zarine Khan leaves behind her husband Sanjay Khan and their four children: Sussanne, Simone, Farah, and Zayed Khan. Earlier this year, the couple celebrated 59 years of marriage.
