The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has revealed that the Al Waab Health Center will commence weekend healthcare services starting next Friday, enhancing access to vital medical care across Qatar.
With the introduction of Al Waab, the total number of PHCC health centers available on weekends now reaches 22. These facilities are strategically positioned throughout various regions to ensure that residents can conveniently access healthcare services, particularly during weekends.
The weekend services now comprise health centers including Musheireb, Al Sheehaniya, Muaither, Al Ruwais, Umm Salal, Madinat Khalifa, Leabaib, Al Khor, Gharrafat Al Rayyan, Al Waab, Al Matar, West Bay, Omar Bin Al Khattab, Al Wakra, Rawdat Al Khail, Al Thumama, Al Mashaf, Al Sadd, Al Rayyan, Abu Bakr Al Siddiq, Al Wajba, and Al Jemailiya, which provides on-call services.
According to PHCC, this expansion aligns with its ongoing initiative to enhance healthcare accessibility, making medical services more available to communities, and improving the efficiency of healthcare delivery throughout Qatar.
Moreover, PHCC is working to bolster urgent care facilities through a network of 15 health centers that operate 24/7. These locations are equipped to manage non-life-threatening urgent conditions, alleviating demands on hospital emergency departments and allowing them to concentrate on critical cases.
PHCC also provides an urgent telephone consultation service from Sunday through Thursday via its hotline 16000. This service allows patients to get medical advice, guidance, and referrals depending on their condition without needing an immediate center visit.
Currently, PHCC manages 31 health centers throughout Qatar, playing a pivotal role in delivering accessible and efficient community-based healthcare to all residents.
