In a recent Instagram post dated November 24, Singh noted that supplement needs vary by individual, emphasizing the importance of understanding one’s body requirements. He identified vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, and iron as essential for women in their thirties.
1. Vitamin D for Robust Immunity
Singh pointed out that vitamin D plays a vital role in enhancing the immune system. He explained that many adults fail to get sufficient sunlight due to indoor lifestyles. “The first supplement, crucial for immunity, is vitamin D. Most adults are indoors for prolonged periods. Thus, supplementing vitamin D is necessary to bolster immunity and support bone strength as you age,” he stated.
2. Omega-3 for Managing Inflammation
Next on Singh’s list is omega-3 fatty acids, particularly beneficial for women who don't eat fish twice weekly. Omega-3 helps reduce inflammation, contributing to heart health and overall wellness. Singh remarked, “The second essential supplement is omega-3, related to inflammation. If fish is absent from your diet at least twice a week, and especially for vegetarians, omega-3 supplementation is advisable.” Plant-based options, such as flaxseeds and walnuts, provide this vital nutrient for those not consuming fish.
3. Iron for Vitality and Blood Health
Finally, Singh emphasized the importance of iron supplementation, noting that women experience monthly iron loss due to menstruation. He advised, “Iron is the most critical supplement for women. Given the regular loss incurred from periods, iron supplementation becomes crucial. It’s vital to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any iron supplements, as they can provide guidance on the appropriate dosage based on blood tests.”
