Emirates has officially partnered with GE Aerospace to elevate its aircraft engine repair and maintenance capabilities at its Dubai center. This new agreement is aimed at enhancing the repair services for the GE90 and GP7200 engines.

The signing ceremony took place at Emirates Group Headquarters, attended by Adel Al Redha, the Deputy President and Chief Operating Officer of Emirates, alongside Mohamed Ali, the President and CEO of Commercial Engines & Services at GE Aerospace.

This collaboration is a crucial element of the expansion of the Emirates Engine Maintenance Centre (EEMC), supported by a substantial US$300 million investment, which focuses on improving the airline’s maintenance, repair, and overhaul capabilities for aircraft engines.

As part of this partnership, GE Aerospace will offer technical consultancy and specialized training for the Emirates Engineering teams. Additionally, they will support the establishment of a dedicated repair line for component parts and facilitate the transfer of essential technical skills, standards, and best practices to the EEMC workforce.

According to Adel Al Redha, this agreement is a pivotal step in fortifying Emirates’ engine repair operations and developing advanced maintenance facilities in Dubai. He emphasized that the partnership will also aid in training employees in the specialized skills necessary for servicing the GE90 and GP7200 engines, which are integral to the airline's Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 fleets.

He further stated that the expansion of the Emirates Engine Maintenance Centre will enhance Emirates Engineering’s reputation as a premier facility for aircraft engine repairs, ultimately improving engine service efficiency for an ever-growing fleet.

Mohamed Ali remarked that Emirates is a significant and enduring partner for GE Aerospace, and this agreement underlines GE's commitment to supporting airline partners throughout the lifecycle of their engines, while also contributing to the long-term development of the aviation sector in the UAE.

Emirates Engineering currently delivers engineering, line maintenance, and base maintenance support for an extensive fleet of over 270 aircraft, which includes Boeing 777, Airbus A380, and Airbus A350 models from its state-of-the-art facilities in Dubai.

Since its inception in 2014, the Emirates Engine Maintenance Centre has been offering top-notch repair and maintenance services for the engines operated within the Emirates fleet.
