Post by : Bianca Hayes

In an innovative move, Dubai has launched the ‘Unified Medical Report for People of Determination’, aimed at improving healthcare assessments and service delivery. Initiated by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), this project establishes a standardized framework for diagnosis and classification.

This initiative forms part of the ‘People of Determination Services Team’ under the ‘City Makers’ programme, spearheaded by the Executive Council of Dubai. It unites key governmental and community organizations to enhance connected services.

Collaborating entities include the Dubai Health Authority, Community Development Authority (CDA), Dubai Health, Dubai Police, Dubai Autism Centre, Dubai Club for People of Determination, among others. Their collective aim is to streamline and enhance services for People of Determination and their families.

Standardized Medical Framework

The primary goal of this initiative is to create a reliable and unified medical reporting system. By standardizing the diagnosis and classification of medical conditions, it aims to improve accuracy and ensure equitable assessments.

Seamless Digital Integration

An advanced digital platform underpins the system, integrating with NABIDH, Dubai's health information exchange. This connectivity facilitates the secure and efficient sharing of patient data among hospitals and healthcare professionals.

Medical reports will adhere to international standards such as the ICD-10 classification, ensuring consistent accuracy on a global scale.

Streamlined Process

The initiative adopts a fully digital approach. The process begins with patient assessments at authorized healthcare facilities, leading to the generation of a unified medical report, and ultimately issuing the SANAD card.

This seamless digital journey enhances accessibility to various government and community services for People of Determination.

Key Benefits

  • Quicker access to essential services

  • Reliable and equitable medical assessments

  • Improved coordination among governmental entities

  • Enhanced data-driven decision making

  • Strengthened digital health infrastructure

Governmental Vision

Officials declare that this initiative bolsters Dubai’s vision of digital transformation and fosters a ‘One Government’ strategy, where various departments collaborate through integrated systems.

It echoes the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which focuses on enhancing quality of life, fostering inclusion, and ensuring equitable opportunities for all.

Dr. Atef Abdullateef Saleh from DHA stated that this project will elevate medical evaluations, mitigate discrepancies in assessments, and significantly improve the overall service experience.

Additionally, Maitha Al Shamsi from CDA emphasized that the initiative will render services simpler, quicker, and more inclusive, enabling People of Determination to lead improved lives.
