Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who leads the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, chaired the 93rd council meeting, held virtually. This session brought together Vice Chairman Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer and key officials from various government and energy sectors.

The agenda included a review of Dubai’s approach to expanding retail fuel stations throughout the region, focusing on enhancing fuel services and facilitating smoother traffic conditions at these facilities.

Dialogue also centered around strategic initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiencies and safety protocols in fuel distribution networks. Emirates National Oil Company’s continuous efforts to optimize fuelling processes and manage vehicle flow at service stations were emphasized by officials.

AI's increasing role in the operations of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority was a key topic, showcasing innovations such as the world’s first AI-driven gas turbine controller located at the Jebel Ali Power Generation and Water Desalination Complex.

Moreover, DEWA plans to introduce its “Virtual Engineer” in June 2026, a tool anticipated to enhance system operations and overall efficiency.

The potential of AI is already manifesting in productivity gains at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which contributes 3,860 megawatts, making up 21.5% of Dubai’s energy mix.

With ambitious goals, Dubai targets a clean energy capacity exceeding 36% by 2030, aligning with its vision of achieving 100% clean energy production by 2050.

The council reaffirmed its dedication to integrating cutting-edge technologies and enhancing infrastructure to bolster sustainable development and energy efficiency within the emirate.
