Zayed Museum Introduces Four Interactive Children's Books

Post by : Bianca Hayes

The Zayed National Museum, a key cultural institution in the United Arab Emirates, has launched four engaging interactive children's books available in both English and Arabic. These books aim to inspire young audiences to learn about the rich heritage and natural environment of the UAE.

Drawing from the country's traditions and its stunning natural landscapes, the books feature interactive elements like touch-and-feel pages, pop-up illustrations, and animated activities. This approach ensures that children not only have fun but also gain valuable insights into their national identity.

The first book, Qudwati - Under the Desert Sky, portrays the vast desert landscapes that shaped the values of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Through captivating storytelling and illustrations, this book teaches children about resilience, curiosity, and a deep respect for nature. The Arabic version was co-created with the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre.

Another title, Kitabu - Step Inside, Listen Closely, is a pop-up book that guides children through the museum’s galleries and architectural beauty. It sparks imagination and encourages exploration while covering important aspects of UAE history and culture.

What's This? - Animals of the United Arab Emirates caters to early learners. This touch-and-feel book introduces local wildlife, fostering curiosity about the natural world.

The fourth offering, Our Life by the Sea, is an interactive coloring book created in collaboration with Éditions Animées. It highlights the sea's significance in Emirati culture, allowing children to color images and animate their drawings through the BlinkBook app.

These releases are part of a broader publishing initiative by the museum, which includes prior titles like Magan Rediscovered: The Building of a Bronze Age Boat That Sailed the Arabian Gulf and Zayed National Museum’s Collection Highlights. This effort underscores the museum’s commitment to promoting education, research, and cultural understanding.

The books can now be purchased at Al Nagwa Boutique within Zayed National Museum.
