Discover Al Shuwaib: A Celebration of Community and Tourism in Al Ain

The “Discover Al Shuwaib” event took place in Al Ain from April 17 to 19, witnessing enthusiastic participation from local residents. This initiative was organized by the Emirates Council for Balanced Development in collaboration with the Emirates Foundation.

This initiative aims to activate natural resources and forge connections between individuals and their surroundings. By promoting healthy, sustainable lifestyles, it focuses particularly on rural regions.

In line with the vision set by UAE leadership, the program emphasizes innovative community initiatives that celebrate the distinct identity of each locale. Its objectives include increasing community participation, supporting sustainable development, and enhancing national pride and connection to the natural heritage.

Families enjoyed a variety of activities tailored for all ages, such as compass navigation adventures, mountain biking trails, creative art workshops for children, and volunteer opportunities aimed at environmental preservation. Notably, a tree-planting campaign raised awareness about sustainability.

The event also included features from the “Proud of the UAE” campaign, fostering a sense of belonging and encouraging community involvement.

By showcasing the natural beauty and cultural richness of Al Shuwaib, including sites like Al Shuwaib Dam and its picturesque landscapes, the initiative has positioned the area as an emerging community tourism hotspot.

This event forms part of the council's broader strategy to create impactful programs that reveal the environmental and tourism potential of villages, thereby enhancing community engagement throughout the UAE.
