Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead, has taken the Indian box office by storm, crossing an impressive ₹600 crore mark domestically and ₹900 crore globally. Despite releasing exclusively in Hindi, the film has resonated strongly with audiences across southern states, prompting the makers to announce a wider, pan-India release strategy for its sequel.

The first installment, released on December 5, has created waves not only in the Hindi-speaking belt but also in key South Indian markets such as Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru. According to recent occupancy reports, Dhurandhar registered 28.75% occupancy in Hyderabad, 37.25% in Chennai, and an impressive 49.25% in Bengaluru, figures that rival and sometimes surpass those from Mumbai and the National Capital Region. This encouraging response has motivated producers to dub Dhurandhar 2 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, alongside Hindi, marking a significant pan-India rollout.

At the climax of Dhurandhar, fans were treated to a glimpse of the protagonist’s deeper backstory, setting the stage for Dhurandhar 2, scheduled for release on March 19, 2026, coinciding with Eid festivities. The sequel will expand on Ranveer Singh’s character, Hamza Ali Mazari (alias Jaskirat Singh Rangi), and explore his covert mission and origins, intensifying the espionage thriller’s appeal.

The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast featuring Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Rakesh Bedi. Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar was written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, known for his gripping storytelling style.

Social media buzz, strong word-of-mouth, and repeat viewership have been critical drivers of Dhurandhar’s success, especially in South India, where fans have expressed a strong desire for dubbed versions to experience the film in their native languages. The sequel’s pan-India launch strategy aims to capitalize on this enthusiasm and reach an even wider audience.

Dhurandhar 2 is set to hit theatres alongside Yash and Kiara Advani’s much-anticipated Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, promising an exciting clash at the box office in March 2026.

With Dhurandhar’s phenomenal success paving the way, fans eagerly await the next chapter of this high-stakes spy saga, ready for a thrilling cinematic experience in multiple languages across India.
