In its opening weekend, the Hindi version alone grossed over ₹50 crore in India. Producers celebrated the achievement with a poster displaying Dhanush in a relaxed pose on a jet, noting: “50.95 crore (NBOC in India) Only Hindi.” Dhanush shared his exhilaration on social media, declaring, “Flying high! Har Har Mahadev.” The Hindi release significantly outperformed the Tamil version both in India and internationally.
The film kicked off with ₹22 crore on Friday, followed by a remarkable ₹44.25 crore on Saturday. By Sunday’s conclusion, the net collection in India was ₹52 crore, primarily from the Hindi variant, which contributed ₹49.75 crore, while the Tamil version garnered approximately ₹2.25 crore. Overseas, the film amassed ₹6 crore over its opening weekend, marking a total of ₹68 crore globally. Analysts suggest that while there may be a decline in weekday collections, the film could cross the ₹100 crore milestone if its momentum holds.
With a screenplay penned by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, Tere Ishk Mein presents a nuanced exploration of the relationship between Shankar (Dhanush) and Mukti (Kriti Sanon). It intricately depicts how lingering misunderstandings and emotions bubble to the surface when the pair reunites after years apart, crafting a story rich in romance, regret, and the hope for second chances.
Audiences have noted the film’s strong performances, captivating music, and Rai’s hallmark emotional depth as key elements driving its box office success. Despite a range of reviews, the palpable chemistry between Dhanush and Kriti Sanon has enchanted viewers, bolstering the film's commercial achievements.
