A year after the tragic Pushpa 2 stampede in Hyderabad, Dil Raju, chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation and producer, met Sritej’s father, Bhaskar, to resolve pending financial support concerns. Bhaskar had earlier stated that Allu Arjun and his team were unresponsive to requests for help.
Dil Raju confirmed that the issue is now settled. Allu Arjun and his father, Aravind, contributed ₹3.2 crore to the family, including ₹1.5 crore deposited as a fixed deposit in Sritej’s name. This ensures a monthly payout of ₹75,000 to cover living expenses and medical bills. An additional ₹70 lakh was provided for medical support and to secure Sritej’s future.
Bhaskar acknowledged the support but requested further assistance for his son’s rehabilitation. Dil Raju assured him that all medical expenses will be fully covered for at least six months, or longer if necessary.
The stampede occurred on December 4, 2024, during the Hyderabad premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule, leaving Sritej critically injured. Following the incident, Allu Arjun and his team, along with theatre management, were briefly arrested and later released on bail.
