Nandamuri Balakrishna’s much-awaited sequel, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, has hit a temporary roadblock. Originally scheduled for December 5, the film’s release has been postponed due to financial complications. The production team is now working to resolve the issues, with a December 12 release currently in sight.
The delay comes after legal intervention from financiers, prompting senior industry figures to step in and mediate between the parties. Discussions are reportedly progressing well, and an official release date announcement is expected soon. Some distributors are also considering a December 24 launch to capitalize on the Christmas weekend.
Akhanda 2 reunites Balakrishna with director Boyapati Sreenu and features Samyuktha Menon and Aadhi Pinisetty in important roles. Produced on a large scale by Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Ishan Saksena under 14 Reels Plus and IVY Entertainment, the sequel is among the season’s most anticipated releases.
Following the success of Balakrishna’s recent film Daaku Maharaj, excitement for the return of one of his most popular characters remains extremely high, with fans eagerly awaiting the blockbuster experience.
