Ajman Chamber Introduces Eco Smart Industry Initiative

The Ajman Chamber has hosted a forum named “Sustainability in the Industrial Sector” to officially kick off the Eco Smart Industry initiative's first phase. This event was dedicated to discussing best practices related to resource conservation, optimizing consumption, and recycling, while underscoring the commitment to fostering sustainable industrial advancement.

Attending the forum were notable figures including Mohammed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director for Member Support Services, Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser Al Nuaimi, Director of Member Affairs, and Abdullah Abdul Mohsen Al Nuaimi, Director of Government Communication, alongside representatives from over 20 factories based in Ajman.

During the event, Mariam Al Nuaimi, who heads the initiative and is also the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communication at the Ajman Chamber, discussed the factory involvement process in this initiative. She provided insights into the registration steps for the first phase, the criteria for environmental readiness evaluations, and tools for tracking sustainability performance, energy consumption, and resource efficiency.

Al Nuaimi emphasized the initiative's goal to foster an interactive knowledge-sharing platform that presents successful industrial practices and encourages idea exchanges among participating entities. This approach aims to facilitate the development of actionable solutions while promoting a culture of efficiency and continual improvement.

The forum also initiated the registration process for factories participating in the first phase of the initiative, signaling increasing enthusiasm among industrial players for sustainable production practices.

Participants exchanged case studies showcasing strategies for improving energy efficiency, effective resource management, and emissions reductions. These presentations illustrated how adopting sustainable practices can significantly enhance operational efficiency while decreasing costs.

Attendees regarded the forum as an essential opportunity for collaboration, offering avenues for partnership building and the sharing of knowledge related to industrial sustainability and recycling efforts.
