Bollywood actor Aftab Shivdasani, who embarked on his cinematic journey as a child actor, has categorically refuted rumors regarding drug use that emerged during his early days in the film industry. At 47, the star known for Mr India, Mast, Kasoor, and the Masti franchise, spoke out against these allegations, emphasizing the significance of truth over hearsay.
In a recent discussion, Aftab remarked, “The truth doesn't make noise. The truth is always silent. And the truth doesn't need to prove itself.” He described the drug rumors as “the funniest” he has ever encountered, asserting that he prefers to dedicate his efforts to his work rather than engage in disputes.
Moreover, Aftab reflected on common perceptions of his character and supposed attitude issues. Looking back at his extensive career in Bollywood, which began with the classic Mr India in 1987, he acknowledged that the industry can be “very unforgiving.” Despite experiencing criticism and rivals, he has made a conscious effort to uphold a balanced image. “I had loads of enemies and people talking badly about me. Thankfully, I've built a reputation where people may not like me, but they don't hate me — because they don't know me enough,” he shared.
Having made his debut at just nine years old, Aftab has experienced the peaks and valleys of Bollywood firsthand. He emphasizes that staying authentic and honing one’s craft is essential for succeeding in the competitive landscape.
Upcoming, Aftab is set to feature in the fourth installment of the adult comedy series, Mastiii 4, directed by Milap Zaveri. The film, which also stars Vivek Oberoi and Riteish Deshmukh, promises to deliver the franchise’s signature blend of comedy and drama.
With over thirty years of experience, Aftab remains a respected member of Bollywood, known not only for his acting prowess but also for his prudent perspective on fame, controversies, and integrity.
