The Ministry of Youth and Sports in Egypt has revealed the details of the 10th Annual Zayed Charity Run, taking place on December 26 in Sheikh Zayed City, Giza. This event, organized alongside the Higher Organising Committee of the Zayed Charity Run, will direct its proceeds to the Egyptian Food Bank.

At a press conference, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed that the event stands as a testament to the humanitarian collaboration between Egypt and the UAE. He emphasized the race's role in reinforcing strong bilateral relations and showcasing the potential of sports to foster beneficial social change. Preparations are underway to welcome a significant audience, aiming to pay tribute to the humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Mohsen Sarhan Ali, CEO of the Egyptian Food Bank, highlighted that their participation underscores their dedication to community support. The organization not only provides food aid but also champions initiatives that assist struggling families and promote volunteer efforts.

Participants can look forward to several race categories, including a competitive 10km run, a 5km event for amateurs and People of Determination, and a 5km wheelchair race for professional competitors. The route will extend from the Zayed 2000 entrance to ZED Park.

Over the years, the Zayed Charity Run has witnessed remarkable growth. Past events have attracted substantial numbers, with 10,000 runners in Cairo in both 2015 and 2016, 10,000 in Luxor in 2017, and 15,000 in Ismailia in 2018. The number of participants surged to 20,000 in Alexandria in 2022, reaching 25,000 in the New Administrative Capital in 2023, and 50,000 expected in 2024. This trend illustrates the increasing enthusiasm for merging charitable efforts with sporting endeavors for a meaningful social impact.
