The Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department has unveiled significant details of its “Winter Ghiras 2025” initiative, themed “Planting Values, Illuminating the Future.” This program targets girls aged 7 to 16 and will take place from December 8 to 18, 2025, across seven designated venues in Dubai.
As part of its strategic vision, “Closer to the Community,” the Department aims to enhance educational outreach and encourage community engagement throughout the emirate. This year, Winter Ghiras adopts a fresh approach, emphasizing the UAE’s cultural identity and social values while providing families with an exciting seasonal program.
Through this initiative, the Dubai Islamic Affairs Department aims to equip younger generations to welcome the winter season with positivity, robust morals, and practical life skills. The program combines enriching learning experiences, entertainment, and hands-on activities, promoting both religious awareness and authentic Islamic values through engaging educational techniques.
According to recent statistics, the program has reached over 763 participants, benefitting from the expertise of 43 qualified instructors and the commitment of 64 enthusiastic volunteers. A total of 29 educational classes were organized, featuring 188 interactive workshops amounting to 497 hours of instruction. This systematic approach underscores the Department’s dedication to delivering quality content, sustainable influence, and effective community support.
Ms. Sheikha Sultan Al Marri, the Director of the Islamic Knowledge Programs Department and Head of the Winter Ghiras project, remarked that the positive feedback reflects the increasing confidence of the community in the program. She highlighted that the initiative prioritizes religious understanding, behavioral development, and faith-driven values through modern educational methods designed to generate tangible and lasting outcomes.
Additionally, Ms. Al Marri noted that Winter Ghiras stands out as a seasonal educational model that effectively blends teaching goals with volunteer participation during school breaks, in alignment with the UAE leadership’s commitment to fostering knowledgeable and value-oriented generations.
