A significant collaboration has been established between Emirates College for Advanced Education and Zayed Authority for People of Determination, aiming to improve educational frameworks and training offerings for People of Determination across the UAE.

This partnership is rooted in the development of specific professional programs, enhancing quality assurance, promoting scientific research, and cultivating national talent within the areas of special education and rehabilitation. Both entities affirm that this initiative aligns with the UAE’s commitment to fostering a diverse and sustainable community where everyone has equal chances.

Part of this collaboration will involve crafting specialized training courses that meet the standards set by the National Qualifications Centre, as well as the particular needs of People of Determination. There will be a concentrated effort to create standardized evaluation tools that accurately gauge the skills of both students and education professionals in the rehabilitation sector.

The agreement promises the rollout of accredited training courses and practical opportunities for People of Determination, integrated within officially recognized educational programs. Furthermore, it encompasses sharing expertise concerning educational evaluation methods and quality control processes.

Emirates College for Advanced Education is committed to facilitating the preparation of People of Determination for meaningful participation in the workforce through annual programs and workshops tailored to adaptive learning and inclusive educational approaches.

His Excellency Abdullah Ismail Al Kamali, Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector at Zayed Authority for People of Determination, noted that this agreement highlights the authority’s roadmap to create a cohesive education and rehabilitation system driven by innovation and quality.

He also emphasized the necessity for collaboration between academic institutions and rehabilitation services to nurture specialized national professionals while developing training programs supported by research that cater to the demands of a dynamic labor market.

A notable feature of this collaboration is the introduction of the UAE’s inaugural Level 4 Professional Diploma in Sign Language Interpretation, designed to train interpreters to meet international professional standards.

Graduates of this diploma will receive licenses from the relevant UAE authorities, enabling them to work across various sectors and enhance services available to the deaf community. This initiative also plays a vital role in preparations for hosting the World Congress of the Deaf in Abu Dhabi, set for 2027.

The agreement includes establishing a joint mentoring program to share effective practices in special education. Both organizations are dedicated to preparing qualified professionals in education and rehabilitation, alongside supporting Emiratisation through collaborative academic and training efforts.
