On May 8, 2026, the UAE's Ministry of Defence reported that the nation’s air defense systems intercepted two ballistic missiles and three drones originating from Iran. This incident resulted in three individuals sustaining moderate injuries.

Additionally, officials confirmed a total of 230 recorded injuries due to these attacks, involving a diverse range of nationalities, including Emirati, Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Egyptian, Filipino, Sudanese, Sri Lankan, Nepali, Jordanian, Palestinian, Moroccan, Russian, and others.
Tragically, the count of fallen heroes has reached three, including a Moroccan civilian contractor associated with the armed forces. Meanwhile, civilian fatalities stand at ten, representing victims from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, and Egypt.
In light of these developments, the Ministry of Defence assured that the UAE is fully equipped to counter any threats against its security and stability. Authorities have emphasized the implementation of necessary measures to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty, citizens, and essential facilities amidst increasing regional tensions.
