The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reiterated its stand on neutrality and regional harmony, announcing that it will not permit any military operations against Iran to utilize its airspace, land, or territorial waters.
An official statement from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shared via social media, emphasized the nation's refusal to extend logistical support for military actions targeting Iran. The ministry advocated for dialogue, de-escalation, and respect for sovereignty, urging adherence to international law as essential measures to resolve regional conflicts.
Recent tensions have escalated following US President Donald Trump's remarks about an “armada” heading towards Iran, though he voiced hope that military intervention wouldn't be necessary. Trump warned of possible US military response should Iran persist in its alleged violent actions against demonstrators.
The presence of the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and three accompanying warships in the Middle East has raised alarm over the possibility of imminent airstrikes. Additionally, the US military confirmed the deployment of F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets and noted a surge in military cargo planes to the region.
Protests that began peacefully in Iran have since intensified across various cities, with reports from Iranian authorities indicating a shift towards violence.
