Abu Dhabi Hosts Key Talks Between UAE and Congo Leaders

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Félix Tshisekedi, the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, during his official visit to the UAE. The discussions centered on fortifying bilateral ties and expanding collaboration in pivotal sectors.

Both leaders examined avenues for boosting economic and developmental partnerships, primarily under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The dialogue emphasized aligning their collaborative efforts with national development objectives while fostering growth and prosperity for both nations.

Beyond economic dialogues, the meeting addressed recent events in the Middle East and their implications for broader regional and global security. President Tshisekedi strongly condemned attacks targeting civilians and infrastructure, asserting that they breach international law and jeopardize stability.

He also expressed the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s unwavering support for the UAE, backing its initiatives to uphold national security, protect sovereignty, and ensure the welfare of its citizens.

The session included various high-ranking UAE officials, such as Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, alongside several ministers and dignitaries.

Prior to the talks, President Tshisekedi was greeted upon his arrival in the UAE by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, marking the commencement of his official visit to enhance diplomatic and economic relationships between their nations.
