UAE and Montenegro Enhance Legislative Collaboration at PAM Summit

During the inaugural Summit of Speakers and Presidents of Parliament of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) Member and Partner States in Budva, Montenegro, high-ranking officials from the UAE and Montenegro convened to fortify their bilateral connection.

Maryam Majid bin Theneya, the Second Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) and Chair of the FNC Parliamentary Division at PAM, engaged with Dejan Đurović, the head of the Parliament of Montenegro's delegation to PAM, in discussions that occurred alongside the summit.

In their conversation, Maryam Majid bin Theneya commended the remarkable organization of the summit and expressed gratitude for the outstanding hospitality provided by the Parliament of Montenegro to all attending delegations. She underscored the deepening ties between the UAE and Montenegro and stressed the need to elevate parliamentary collaboration, especially in the realms of economic and investment growth.

The dialogue also highlighted the critical necessity of safeguarding freedom of navigation and ensuring the security of international waterways. Both leaders acknowledged that prevailing regional tensions have far-reaching effects on both local security and the broader global economic landscape.

Dejan Đurović advocated for the significance of dialogue and diplomatic efforts in addressing regional issues and preventing further crises. He also pointed out education's role in fostering mutual respect, understanding, and peaceful international relations.
