In a pivotal development for their enduring alliance, the UAE and Kazakhstan convened the tenth session of the UAE-Kazakhstan Joint Committee in Astana, co-chaired by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei and Zhaslan Madiyev. The meeting revitalized collaboration across major sectors as delegates evaluated past achievements and set the agenda for future endeavors.

Discussions encompassed numerous fields such as investment, finance, global cooperation, transportation, health, space, artificial intelligence, and energy. Officials from both countries acknowledged the ongoing growth in economic interactions, with non-oil trade projected to achieve USD 5.6 billion in 2024—indicative of the increasing scope of joint ventures and enhanced investor trust.

The UAE delegation recalled the visit of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Astana in May 2025, which opened new pathways for collaboration in innovation, sustainability, and prolonged economic advancement. The Astana discussions intended to channel this momentum into actionable steps that foster mutual growth.

The session culminated in the signing of official minutes, reaffirming the two nations' dedication to transforming agreed priorities into tangible results. In conjunction with the main meeting, Al Mazrouei also led a roundtable with Renat Bekturov, the Governor of the Astana International Financial Centre, to review current projects and pinpoint new avenues for cooperation with public sectors and private partners.

Emphasizing the importance of monitoring current initiatives, both sides acknowledged the necessity for bolstered connections between small and medium-sized enterprises. This would be crucial for enhancing economic integration and creating varied partnership channels.

During the visit, Al Mazrouei presided over the sixth session of political discussions with Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev. The two parties exchanged perspectives on bilateral relations along with regional and global issues. Additional meetings took place with Kazakhstan's ministers of transportation and energy to assess potential opportunities in logistics, shipping routes, and significant energy projects.

The Astana talks highlighted the ongoing fortification of relations between the UAE and Kazakhstan, paving the way for broader cooperation and novel economic prospects in the coming years.
