Turkmenistan Advocates Reforms for Global Governance

During a high-level meeting of the Group of Friends of Global Governance at the United Nations in New York, Turkmenistan reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing international collaboration and reforming global governance systems. The event, themed “Reforming and Improving Global Governance, Working Together to Address Global Challenges,” gathered representatives from various nations to explore solutions to pressing international issues.

The Turkmen delegation, led by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, underscored the necessity of unified action and bolstered multilateral institutions to tackle contemporary global challenges. In his remarks, Meredov expressed gratitude to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi for the invitation and reiterated Turkmenistan’s support for the Global Governance Initiative put forth by Chinese President Xi Jinping during the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit.

Meredov regarded Turkmenistan’s participation in the Group of Friends of Global Governance as a pivotal opportunity to foster constructive international discourse within the United Nations framework.
