U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that Iran could face renewed military strikes if Tehran refuses to agree to a diplomatic deal with the United States. Speaking during an address at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Trump claimed that Iran’s military capabilities had been severely weakened and said much of the country’s navy and air force had already been destroyed in recent attacks.
During his speech, Trump said, “Everything’s gone. Their navy’s gone. Their air force is gone. Just about everything.” He added that the next step would depend on whether Iran agrees to sign a diplomatic agreement with Washington or faces further military action. Trump’s remarks came amid rising tensions in the Middle East following weeks of military conflict and negotiations linked to Iran’s nuclear program and regional security issues.
The U.S. president also suggested that talks with Iran were now in the “final stages,” but warned that military action could resume within days if negotiations fail. According to Reuters, Trump recently delayed a planned new strike after Gulf countries reportedly encouraged Washington to continue diplomatic discussions instead of escalating the conflict further.
The growing crisis has already affected global energy markets and shipping routes near the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil transit corridors. Oil prices recently dropped after reports suggested a possible U.S.-Iran agreement could reopen shipping activity and reduce fears of wider conflict in the Gulf region.
Iran has responded strongly to Trump’s latest warnings. Iranian officials reportedly warned that any new attacks could expand the conflict beyond the Middle East. Tehran has also continued demanding the removal of sanctions, financial compensation for war damage, and the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from parts of the region as part of any future agreement.
Meanwhile, reports from Israeli and international media suggest that both the United States and Israel remain on high military alert as negotiations continue. Analysts say the situation remains extremely unstable, with diplomacy and the threat of renewed military action both continuing at the same time.
