Police in Toronto have intensified the search for a missing 14-year-old girl as concern for her safety continues to grow. The teenager, identified as Esther “Esti,” was last seen on the night of May 15 near Earl Bales Park in the North York area of the city. Authorities, volunteers, and community groups are now carrying out large-scale search efforts to locate her safely.

According to investigators, Esther was last seen around 11:15 p.m. near a community centre close to Earl Bales Park. Police said she has not been heard from since that night. She is described as being approximately 5-foot-2 with brown hair and a medium build. Authorities later confirmed she was believed to be wearing a green shirt and grey pants when she disappeared.

The search operation has now been raised to “Priority 1” status by Toronto Police, meaning major police resources are being used in the effort to find the teenager. Officers have deployed drones, mounted police units, marine teams, and search crews across the heavily wooded park area and nearby neighbourhoods.

Hundreds of local volunteers have also joined the operation. Community organisations including Shomrim Safety Patrol and other emergency support groups are helping police by distributing flyers, checking neighbourhood areas, and reviewing surveillance footage. Search teams have reportedly gone door-to-door asking residents to inspect backyards, sheds, garages, and security camera recordings for any sign of the missing girl.

Esther’s parents have made emotional public appeals asking their daughter to return home safely. In statements shared with local media, her family said she is “not in trouble” and urged anyone with information to contact police immediately. The case has deeply affected the local community, with many residents gathering to support the search efforts and spread awareness online.

Police officials say they are increasingly concerned for the teenager’s well-being due to the amount of time she has been missing. Investigators are asking local businesses, coffee shops, transit workers, and residents to remain alert and report any possible sightings. Authorities believe public cooperation could play an important role in helping locate the missing teen.

The case has attracted widespread attention across Canada and within international community networks. Volunteer rescue teams from outside Toronto have also travelled to assist with the operation as search efforts continue day and night.

Toronto Police have urged anyone with information related to Esther’s disappearance to contact emergency services or local investigators immediately. Officials say the primary goal remains bringing the teenager home safely as quickly as possible.
