At the DSA and NATSEC Asia 2026 event in Kuala Lumpur, Thailand reaffirmed its commitment to regional defence collaboration, with senior officials in attendance.
The Thai delegation, led by Tharaphong Malakham, included armed forces representatives participating in this significant global defence gathering from April 20 to 23, 2026.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Anwar Ibrahim, attended by high-ranking officials and representatives from 76 nations, underscoring its role as a major defence forum.
Recognized as one of Asia's premier defence exhibitions, DSA and NATSEC Asia 2026 featured over 1,400 exhibitors from 63 countries, with a focus on contemporary defence technologies and innovation.
For Thailand, this event is a pivotal opportunity to explore global advancements in defence technologies, including drones, artificial intelligence, and automation—elements crucial for modernizing military operations.
This event also provided a venue for enhancing partnerships with international defence organizations, enabling Thailand to share expertise and expand collaborative efforts within the global defence sector.
During the visit, the Permanent Secretary explored exhibits of Thai defence products currently in use and with export potential, showcasing Thailand's growing market presence.
He also assessed foreign exhibitors specializing in naval construction, particularly frigates, which could aid Thailand's aspirations for developing its domestic shipbuilding capabilities through strategic collaborations.
