Sharjah Judicial Council Enhances Court Operations

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, presided over a significant meeting on Wednesday at the Holy Quran Academy.

His Highness acknowledged the efforts of Judicial Council members in fortifying the judicial framework and safeguarding the rule of law. He accentuated their pivotal role in fostering a just and transparent legal system, which is essential for societal stability.

Prioritizing Judicial Efficiency and Clarity

The Council assessed vital strategies aimed at boosting judicial efficacy and enhancing court operations. Conversations centered around expediting case resolutions, refining legal procedures, and achieving increased accuracy and clarity in judicial mechanisms.

Passage of New Regulatory Frameworks

Among the meeting’s highlights was the endorsement of an extensive suite of regulatory bylaws aimed at modernizing judicial practices in accordance with global standards. These proposals include:

  • Judicial Inspection Regulation

  • Code of Judicial Conduct

  • Family Guidance Regulation

  • Visitation Rights Regulation for Custodial Children

  • Professional Conduct for Family Counselors

  • Regulation for Marriage Officials

These measures are intended to bolster governance, accountability, and integrity within the judicial framework.

Introduction of Specialized Prosecution Divisions

In a noteworthy advance towards specialization, the Council sanctioned the formation of various new prosecution divisions, which comprise:

  • Public Funds Prosecution

  • Economic Crimes and Money Laundering Prosecution

  • Narcotics Prosecution

  • Family and Child Prosecution

  • Traffic Prosecution

  • Information Technology Prosecution

This initiative aims to optimize case processing, enhance expertise, and ensure faster justice delivery in response to evolving legal complexities.

Empowerment of Women in Judiciary

Additionally, the Council approved an annual forum for female judges to take place on March 10, coinciding with the International Day of Women Judges. This initiative seeks to empower women within the judiciary and facilitate knowledge-sharing and professional growth.

Visit to the Quranic Heritage Museum

On the sidelines of the gathering, His Highness toured the Museum of Celebrated Reciters at the Holy Quran Academy. The museum highlights the legacy of eminent Quran reciters from the Arab world.

Notable figures featured include Abdul Basit Abdus Samad, Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary, Ali Abdullah Jaber, and Bakri Al-Tarabishi.

His Highness examined rare collections such as historical audio recordings, manuscripts, photographs, and personal artifacts that reflect the rich heritage of Quranic recitation.

State-of-the-Art Production Facilities

The visit also encompassed a tour of the academy’s cutting-edge studios, equipped with advanced technology for Quranic, television, and radio production. Officials briefed His Highness on the production processes and highlighted several complete Quran recordings that meet international standards.
