Sheikh Khalid Evaluates Impact of Damj Award 2026

Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan convened the initial meeting for the 2026 Abu Dhabi Excellence Award centered on the Inclusion of People of Determination, known as Damj. Key outcomes and evaluation criteria established by the jury committee were thoroughly analyzed during the session.

The focus was on the criteria across various award categories used to gauge institutional impacts. Several senior officials, including Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri, Sana Mohammed Suhail, Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Ahmed Tamim Al Kuttab, Victor Santiago Pineda, and Layla Al Hyas, participated in the discussions.

The panel emphasized the stages of evaluation to ensure a transparent, fair, and accurate review process. They highlighted the award's importance in motivating institutions to embrace inclusive practices, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for People of Determination.

The jury committee also shared final assessment results that reflected a growing commitment among organizations to adopt inclusive policies and services, aimed at empowering individuals and facilitating their active involvement in the community.

Sheikh Khalid reaffirmed that inclusion is a fundamental goal aligned with the UAE leadership’s vision. He remarked that Abu Dhabi strives to foster a society that champions equal opportunities and full participation.

He also pointed out that the Damj Award serves as a strategic mechanism to advocate for long-lasting inclusion through defined standards, encouraging ongoing enhancements in institutional practices.

The meeting underscored the necessity of evaluating tangible impacts to ensure that inclusion initiatives yield meaningful, sustainable results. The award further aligns with the UAE’s Year of Family, emphasizing the role of inclusion in cultivating resilient families.

Participants also considered expanding involvement from public, private, and third-sector entities, as well as elevating awareness regarding the award and its objectives.

The board commended the heightened levels of participation and innovation demonstrated by institutions, recognizing that the award fosters healthy competition and promotes the sharing of best practices.

The winners of the Damj Award 2026 will be announced at an upcoming ceremony later this year.
