Chairing a regular meeting on Tuesday morning at the Ruler’s Office, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), led the discussions.
Present were His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, alongside His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Council.
The Council approved the draft general budget for Sharjah’s government departments and entities for the year 2026. This budget demonstrates the government’s ongoing dedication to improving institutional effectiveness, optimizing public spending, and augmenting the quality of services provided to the community.
The budget outlines anticipated revenues and expenditures across crucial sectors, focusing on strategic planning, measurable performance metrics, and sustainable financial practices. It aims to meet development objectives while ensuring that resources benefit citizens, residents, and visitors to Sharjah.
Additionally, the Council resolved to submit the draft budget to the Sharjah Consultative Council for dialogue, a necessary step in the legislative process ahead of final approval.
The Executive Council also reviewed the performance of various government departments throughout 2025, assessing advancements in achieving strategic goals, evaluating outcomes against benchmarks, and outlining plans and priorities for 2026. This review is designed to encourage ongoing enhancement of government services and align future programs with Sharjah’s development aspirations and community needs.
