The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has proudly recognized 737 exemplary bus drivers for their exceptional performance throughout the year 2025. This accolade is awarded due to their unwavering commitment to safety, discipline, and efficiency in service delivery, consistent with established performance benchmarks.
This initiative emphasizes RTA’s dedication to enhancing public transportation services while upholding safety and quality standards, focusing on customer satisfaction and an enriched travel experience.
Marwan Al Zarooni, Director of Buses at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, stated that this initiative aligns with RTA’s strategic objectives concerning health, safety, security, and overall customer contentment. He added that it plays a crucial role in fostering a safe transportation environment while promoting innovative and sustainable mobility solutions.
Al Zarooni further detailed that drivers are assessed annually using a rigorous evaluation system that considers various crucial factors, including adherence to traffic regulations, standards of safety and security on the roads, avoidance of violations, quality of service, professionalism, absence of customer complaints, and overall discipline.
He congratulated the awarded drivers for their commitment and steady performance, noting that their contributions are vital to providing a safe, high-quality transport system that enhances Dubai’s status and the UAE’s reputation on the global stage.
Moreover, he highlighted that the program fosters healthy competition among drivers, boosts road safety awareness, and encourages employees to uphold high service standards that align with international best practices.
The RTA also reported significant growth in public bus usage, with 197.2 million passengers recorded in 2025, resulting in a 4.9% increase compared to 2024. This growth marks a high point in recent years and signifies rising public confidence in Dubai’s transport system.
