RIT Dubai Marks Milestone with 394 Graduates Across 16 Diverse Programs

In a grand ceremony at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai (RIT Dubai) celebrated its 15th graduation cohort, with the prestigious presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ).

This year, 394 students were recognized for their achievements across 16 distinct undergraduate and master's degree programs.

Prominent figures, including Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Essa Kazim, and US Consul General Robert Raines, were also in attendance, adding to the ceremony’s significance.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed emphasized how the graduation signifies Dubai's dedication to cultivating future talent equipped for innovation, technology, and the evolving knowledge economy. He stressed that education is vital for enhancing Dubai's global competitiveness, in alignment with the UAE Centennial 2071 and the vision of “We the UAE 2031.”

Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni highlighted the collaboration between DIEZ and RIT Dubai in fostering a robust economic environment focused on technology and sustainable growth. He commended the university for preparing skilled professionals suited to future industries and aiding Dubai's digital transformation.

RIT Dubai President Dr. Yousef Al Assaf announced ongoing initiatives to adapt academic offerings to the demands of the job market. He noted this year's unique accomplishment of graduating the university’s first Psychology cohort, while also furthering research initiatives on sustainability and related fields.

Among the graduating students were participants from nine undergraduate programs such as engineering in various disciplines, marketing, finance, cybersecurity, psychology, and information technologies.

Additionally, graduates completed seven master's programs, including data analytics, cybersecurity, and smart cities.

Since its inception in 2010, RIT Dubai has produced over 2,490 graduates, bolstering its significance in Dubai’s landscape of higher education and innovation.

The university expanded its academic offerings this year, introducing new undergraduate programs in Management Information Systems and Advertising & Public Relations, alongside accredited micro-master’s programs in Health Informatics and Futures Foresight.

RIT Dubai also unveiled a dual-degree engineering program enabling students to earn both bachelor's and master’s degrees efficiently and cost-effectively.

Future initiatives include a master’s program in Integrated Design, a bachelor’s program in Computer Engineering, and new micro-programs in Accounting and Financial Analytics, alongside a media design initiative for People of Determination.

As a branch of the Rochester Institute of Technology, RIT Dubai continues to enhance its reputation as a leading center for education and innovation in the UAE through collaborative efforts with government and private sectors.
