Iran referred to historic battles while reacting to Donald Trump’s comments on a possible agreement
Under the auspices of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the 20th anniversary edition of Art Dubai concluded with remarkable success, welcoming unprecedented public participation and garnering acclaim from artists, galleries, collectors, and institutions globally.
The event, which took place from 14 to 17 May at Madinat Jumeirah, shattered attendance records, with over 25,000 visitors during its public days, marking an all-time high for the fair. This edition honored the artists, galleries, and cultural entities that have shaped the UAE's creative landscape over the past two decades.
Art Dubai 2026 underscored Dubai's emergence as a pivotal regional and global art center, featuring a diverse range of contemporary, modern, and digital artworks from top-tier galleries worldwide. Organizers emphasized their commitment to promoting and highlighting a new generation of UAE-based artists and creatives.
Sales of artwork surged throughout the four-day event, with participation from a variety of international, regional, and local museums, institutions, and private collectors from Dubai and beyond.
With the backing of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority as a strategic partner, the fair was organized in collaboration with A.R.M. Holding, and lifestyle developer HUNA also joined as a partner.
Benedetta Ghione, Executive Director of Art Dubai Group, attributed the anniversary edition's success to the support from artists, galleries, and partners. She highlighted that the enthusiastic public response reflects Dubai's cultural richness and the vital role of art in community engagement.
Participants praised the fair for the vibrant local art scene and the escalating interest among collectors within the region.
Franco Noero, founder of the Turin-based Franco Noero Gallery, noted that the region continues to favor long-term investments in art while highlighting the sophistication of Dubai's collectors.
Taymour Grahne, who established his gallery in Dubai in 2025, reported that his booth was sold out within the first few hours of the event, citing strong interest from a diverse array of collectors residing in Dubai, including Emiratis, Saudis, Lebanese, Americans, French, and Canadians.
Maliha Tabari, founder of Tabari Artspace, commended Art Dubai for its role in bridging Middle Eastern and North African art with global audiences over two decades, praising the fair for its ability to foster meaningful interactions between artists, collectors, and visitors.
Mohammed Hafiz, co-founder of ATHR Gallery, described Art Dubai as a crucial international platform for regional artists, asserting that the event highlighted the Middle East's position within the global cultural dialogue.
The fair also saw robust participation from institutions across more than 20 nations, including the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States, Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Angola, Lebanon, Germany, South Africa, and South Korea.
Prominent institutions attending included the Museum of Modern Art, Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, and Busan Museum of Art.
The next Art Dubai edition is scheduled for 7 to 11 April 2027 at Madinat Jumeirah.
