The teaser shows Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, including scenes from his coronation and exile in the forests of Panchavati. At the end of the teaser, Yash appears briefly as Ravana. Alia Bhatt also shared a video asking fans to support the project. She said Ranbir Kapoor did a wonderful job and she was excited for everyone to see it.
The film is very big in scale. Producer Namit Malhotra said both parts of the film together cost more than Rs 4,000 crore (around $500 million). He said people thought it was crazy to make a film of this size, but the team is working carefully and ambitiously. The music is made by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. Rahman said it was difficult but exciting to create music for such an epic story and bring something new to the audience.
Besides Ranbir Kapoor, the film also stars Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, and Ravi Dubey in important roles. Ramayana will release in two parts. The first part is planned for October 2026 worldwide, before Diwali, and the second part will release in Diwali 2027.
