The State of Qatar has fiercely denounced the recent intrusion of Israel’s extremist National Security Minister into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, along with the provocative actions taken by Israeli settlers under the watch of occupation forces.

In a statement released on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar characterized the incident as a blatant violation of international law and humanitarian principles. They emphasized that these actions represent an unacceptable provocation to millions of Muslims globally.

Qatar further criticized the restrictions on worshipers seeking to access Al-Aqsa Mosque. The ministry warned that such actions pose a dangerous threat to the historical and legal status quo in occupied Jerusalem and its significant Islamic and Christian sites.

The statement highlighted that Al-Aqsa Mosque is exclusively a place of worship for Muslims and any unilateral Israeli attempts to alter the status quo of Jerusalem or its holy sites are deemed illegal and void under international law.

Qatar also cautioned that ongoing violations and provocations could escalate violence and instability in the region, adversely affecting efforts to achieve peace.

The ministry reiterated Qatar’s appeal to the international community for immediate action to pressure Israel, the occupying entity, to cease its violations against the Palestinian population and their sacred sites. Furthermore, it called upon Israel to adhere to international resolutions.

Qatar reaffirmed its steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
