Pakistan Enhances Security for US-Iran Peace Talks

Ahead of pivotal negotiations between the United States and Iran, Pakistan has confirmed it will provide extensive security measures in Islamabad. This significant meeting comes on the heels of a brief ceasefire between the two nations.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has assured US Ambassador Natalie Baker that comprehensive safety protocols are firmly in place for all visiting dignitaries.

These discussions arise after a two-week truce that halted hostilities, which began in late February. Pakistan has positioned itself as a crucial mediator, promoting dialogue and de-escalation efforts.

Security frameworks have been intensified throughout Islamabad. The Red Zone is currently cordoned off, significant thoroughfares including Faisal Avenue are restricted, and specific VVIP protocols are activated for the visiting delegations.

Traffic reroutes are instituted, with some access points to the capital being closed. Law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and hospitals have been placed on heightened alert to manage any unforeseen circumstances.

A 30-member advance US team is already on-site to assess the preparations, while hotels in high-security zones have been designated for official purposes. To limit public movement, local holidays have also been announced in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

These talks represent a crucial opportunity to alleviate ongoing tensions, as Pakistan reinforces its diplomatic endeavors to foster peace, stability, and open dialogue in the region.
