Oman ranks among the world’s leading nations in various logistics benchmarks, underscoring its emerging status as a pivotal trade hub in the Gulf region.
The index identifies Oman as the top global performer in the “Starting an Export Supply Chain” category, achieving an impressive processing time of merely 0.8 days, indicative of superior port operations and streamlined export processes.
Furthermore, Oman stands ninth worldwide in the “Import Supply Chain Completion” category, showcasing swift movement of imported goods from entry points to consumers and subsequent returns.
Regionally, Oman is recognized as second in the Gulf for efficiency in export container dwell time at ports and third in direct shipping connectivity, illustrating its strong maritime ties to global trade routes.
The nation also ranks 25th globally in the “Shipping Alliances” category and second in the Gulf, reflecting strengthened partnerships among international shipping entities and broader maritime networks.
Additionally, Oman is 39th globally in “Direct Maritime Connection Partners”, enhancing its reach to global markets via stable shipping lines and logistics collaborations.
In the postal services sector, Oman has achieved 16th place globally and first in the Gulf for “Business Mail Delivery Time,” underlining the efficiency of its commercial postal services.
Officials emphasized that these milestones are a testament to ongoing national initiatives aimed at upgrading ports, enhancing logistics infrastructure, and modernizing customs and transport protocols throughout the country.
The World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index evaluates nations based on their speed, reliability, connectivity, and operational efficacy across maritime, aerial, and postal services, employing authentic shipment data for precise assessments.
Oman’s impressive results in the 2025 index further solidify its position as a prominent global logistics center, contributing to economic diversification, foreign investment, and the growth of international trade.
