Oman Triumphs With Four Medals at ITEX 2026

The Sultanate of Oman garnered significant global attention by winning four medals at the International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This achievement underscores Oman’s expanding capabilities in scientific research, innovation, and technology development.

Represented by the Research and Innovation Authority, Oman proudly secured three gold medals along with one silver at the renowned ITEX 2026 event. Over 1,000 inventions from 17 countries were showcased, establishing the exhibition as one of the foremost platforms for innovation worldwide.

Nahya Nasser Al Hamdani received a gold medal for her creation of smart glasses that integrate a mobile application to aid the blind and visually impaired. This technology empowers users to navigate their environments with increased safety and enhances their mobility through sophisticated digital support.

Luqman Sulaiman Al Dhafri's “Drone-Air Lens” project earned him a gold medal as well. This invention employs drones equipped with AI and machine learning for faster and more accurate automated aircraft inspections, and it also garnered a special award for best invention at the exhibition.

Zaher Salim Al Alawi secured the third gold medal with his biotherapeutic platform aimed at speeding up the healing process for chronic and diabetic wounds. This advanced system employs smart medical delivery technologies to enhance patient recovery and healthcare efficiency.

In addition, Balqees Salim Al Hikmani achieved a silver medal for her closed-loop smart medical system, which regulates potassium levels in heart patients. Her innovation has been noted for its potential to significantly improve cardiac care and patient monitoring within modern healthcare frameworks.

Omani officials regard this achievement as indicative of the country's advancements in research and development, emphasizing their commitment to foster young innovators who create solutions in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
