55 Injured in Night Train Accident Near Ulyanovsk

A serious incident unfolded when a night train en route from Moscow to Chelyabinsk derailed in western Russia, resulting in injuries to at least 55 passengers.

This derailment took place close to the village of Bryandino in the Ulyanovsk Oblast, roughly 1,000 kilometers from Moscow. Reports indicate that seven carriages left the tracks during the occurrence.

Aleksey Yuryevich Russkikh, the regional governor, confirmed that fortunately no lives were lost. At the time of the incident, the train was carrying approximately 415 passengers.

Emergency personnel acted quickly, transporting all injured passengers to local hospitals for urgent care. The exact reason for the derailment remains under investigation, as authorities have yet to provide further details.

Railway authorities are diligently working to return normalcy to the affected region, focusing on passenger safety and infrastructure integrity.
