On Thursday, Israel announced the appointment of Bulgarian diplomat Nickolay Mladenov as the head of U.S. President Donald Trump’s Gaza Peace Initiative. This board is tasked with overseeing the ceasefire in Gaza and steering the subsequent phase of the peace negotiations.
