Post by : Bianca Hayes

The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), a prominent financial hub for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, has announced a partnership with Emirates NBD to elevate support for family businesses and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) in the region.

This strategic alliance aims to deliver customized governance frameworks, succession strategies, tax planning, and wealth conservation solutions. Through this collaboration, family enterprises and UHNWIs will have access to tailored educational programs, workshops, and advisory services designed to ensure long-lasting business continuity and protect family legacies.

With over 1,250 family-oriented entities currently operating at DIFC, including numerous global private client firms, the centre is integral to the UAE’s economy. The leading 120 families based here control assets exceeding USD 1.2 trillion, with family businesses accounting for almost 60% of the nation’s GDP and employing 80% of the workforce.

The DIFC Family Wealth Centre (DFWC) will leverage Emirates NBD Private Banking's expertise to meet the growing demands of family-owned enterprises, offering specialized services for succession planning, family governance, and international investments. Essential tools for this initiative include family offices, holding structures, and foundations that facilitate asset protection and wealth expansion.

In addition, by providing direct access to resources and Next Generation programs, the partnership ensures emerging family leaders are prepared to handle their responsibilities effectively while maintaining their values and the core ethos of their businesses.

This strategic alliance reinforces Dubai and DIFC's status as a global epicenter for family enterprises, creating a dynamic environment supported by structured advisory services aimed at achieving long-term wealth sustainability and fostering enterprise innovation.
