NBA Roundup: Thunder Dominate Heat, Timberwolves Edge Spurs

The Oklahoma City Thunder continued their dominant NBA season with a 124–112 home victory over the Miami Heat, strengthening their league-best record to 33–7. Reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the charge with 29 points, eight assists and five rebounds, as the Thunder pulled away by outscoring Miami 70–53 in the second half.

Oklahoma City tightened its defense after halftime, fueling fast breaks and offensive rhythm. Jalen Williams added 18 points, while Chet Holmgren chipped in with 16 points and nine rebounds. For Miami, Andrew Wiggins scored a team-high 23 points as the Heat slipped to a 20–19 record.

In Minnesota, Anthony Edwards delivered late heroics as the Timberwolves edged the San Antonio Spurs 104–103. Edwards sealed the win with a bank shot with 16.8 seconds remaining, finishing with 23 points. Donte DiVincenzo scored 19, Naz Reid posted 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Rudy Gobert grabbed 14 rebounds in the narrow victory.

San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama led all scorers with 29 points, but both he and De’Aaron Fox missed potential go-ahead shots in the final moments. The Spurs now trail the Thunder by 5.5 games in the Western Conference standings, with Minnesota close behind.

In Toronto, the Raptors claimed a dramatic 116–115 overtime win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Scottie Barnes scored 31 points and sank the game-winning free throw with 0.8 seconds left, while Tyrese Maxey poured in 38 points for Philadelphia.

The New York Knicks snapped Portland’s five-game winning streak with a 123–114 road victory, led by Jalen Brunson’s 26 points and O.G. Anunoby’s 24. Elsewhere, Denver defeated Milwaukee 108–104 behind strong performances from Aaron Gordon and Tim Hardaway Jr., while Orlando, Memphis and other teams also recorded key wins in a busy night across the NBA.
