The Municipal Council of Musandam has convened to assess several development initiatives aimed at bolstering tourism, infrastructure, and public services within the region. This discussion was part of the council’s sixth meeting of 2026, taking place in Khasab under the guidance of His Excellency Faisal bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, the council chairman.

During the meeting, members explored responses to previously highlighted issues and reviewed new proposals intended to stimulate economic growth and enhance the quality of life for residents. A key topic was the revitalization of Khasab’s historic Al Hala Market, a project aimed at preserving local culture while fostering new business opportunities.

Concerns were raised regarding the pricing and availability of animal feed in Musandam. Members discussed ways to improve supply chains, making it easier for livestock owners to access affordable feed, thereby bolstering the agricultural and rural sectors.

Infrastructure development was a major focus, with plans regarding the transformation of Bukha into a more cohesive urban area being reviewed. Additionally, the council deliberated improvements in Madha’s farms area, which are expected to enhance agricultural efficiency and attract more investments.

The proposed dual carriageway linking Qurun Al-Sayd and Khub Al-Shamsi in Dibba was another significant project highlighted. This road expansion aims to streamline transportation, minimize travel time, and bolster safety for motorists using this vital route.

Tourism was also a critical agenda item, with discussions surrounding repairs and upgrades to beach umbrellas at Qadi Beach. This initiative seeks to enhance local visitor amenities and create a more inviting recreational space for both tourists and residents alike.

The meeting wrapped up by addressing social and environmental challenges within the governorate, including the growing number of trucks in Khasab. Council members underscored the necessity for practical solutions and ongoing discussions on recommendations to promote sustainable development and improve public services for the long-term progress of Musandam.
