A former Meta designer has gained attention after choosing to be part of the company's latest layoffs voluntarily. Julie Bone, who served as a content designer at Facebook in Los Angeles, cited her disconnection with Meta's evolving objectives and the company's increasing focus on an “AI-first” environment as reasons for her departure.

In a heartfelt LinkedIn update, Bone revealed that her six-year tenure at Meta culminated in this decision, which she stated was not impulsive but rather a thoughtful conclusion developed over time. She highlighted a disconnect between her aspirations and the current trajectory of the company.

Bone expressed that the timing of her exit aligned well with her personal life. One of her motivations was the hope that her voluntary departure might assist another colleague in retaining their position amidst the layoffs.
