New Leadership in Kyrgyzstan's Tourism Sector

In a significant stride for Kyrgyzstan's tourism landscape, Bishkek welcomed a new head for the State Agency for Tourism Development. This shift comes as part of a dedicated effort to enhance the nation's tourism offerings.

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev, who introduced Eduard Kubatov as the agency's new director, reflecting confidence in his leadership capabilities.

During the announcement, the Prime Minister pointed out tourism’s crucial role in the socio-economic fabric of Kyrgyzstan. He advocated for recognizing the tremendous potential that remains untapped in the sector, asserting the government's commitment to fostering tourism growth.

Officials shared remarkable statistics illustrating sector performance, noting that by 2025, tourism service exports surpassed $1 billion, with approximately 129,000 businesses actively engaged in tourism-related activities.

Several priorities were outlined for the agency, which include refining tourism regulations, boosting service efficiency through digital innovations, and ensuring secure and pleasant experiences for visitors throughout the country.

Kasymaliev expressed confidence that Kubatov will expedite key projects, enhance operational efficiency, and promote sustainable development within the tourism sector. He also highlighted the necessity of integrating modern technology to align with global tourism standards.

The session wrapped up with the Prime Minister wishing Kubatov well, motivating him to accomplish vital goals and to elevate Kyrgyzstan’s tourism profile on both regional and international stages.
