A startling report has emerged from Kozhikode, where five highly venomous snakes were located inside a family residence, sending shockwaves through the community. This incident took place in Mundakkutty, near Kuttiyadi, and has brought about significant worries regarding local safety.

Initial investigations revealed that the snakes were common kraits, renowned for their lethal venom and considered among India's most hazardous serpents. The presence of multiple kraits within a single dwelling is both unusual and concerning.

The first snake was reportedly discovered beneath a pillow in one of the household's bedrooms, heightening fears as it was shared by two young children, aged one and eight.

Following the initial find, another snake was uncovered in the bathroom, with three more appearing in different locations throughout the house. In total, five snakes were recorded within the household, alarming the six family members living there, including elderly individuals.

Local citizens quickly convened around the affected home, and wildlife rescue teams were dispatched to ensure the safe removal of the snakes. Authorities speculate that the serpents might have infiltrated the house in search of shelter or food, potentially driven by environmental factors like nearby foliage or recent weather changes.

Experts have cautioned residents to exercise vigilance, especially during nighttime, as common kraits tend to be more active after dark. Locals are recommended to inspect their surroundings thoroughly, maintain cleanliness in their homes, and limit the opening of doors and windows when possible.

This startling event has ignited worries among the community, leading many to call for heightened awareness and preventive strategies to mitigate such frightening encounters in the future. Authorities are planning site inspections to secure the well-being of the residents.
