Dubai has proudly unveiled Khor Al Mamzar Beach, an initiative aimed at expanding its renowned coastline. This project, launched under the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is part of efforts to enhance the city's infrastructure and establish Dubai as a leading global residence by 2040.
Developed by Dubai Municipality, the beach is the first stage in the Al Mamzar Beaches project and is now accessible to residents and visitors alike, further boosting Dubai's attractiveness as a tourist hotspot.
The inauguration event was attended by Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, along with notable officials and community members, and featured engaging entertainment and community activities.
Covering 2.75 million square feet, Khor Al Mamzar Beach is designed to provide a comprehensive recreational experience with various facilities for leisure and sports. The swimming area has been extended to 3.6 kilometers, representing a 128% increase, and features a new 300-meter night beach, available for round-the-clock enjoyment.
An exciting highlight is the region's inaugural floating walkway, accompanied by over 5.5 kilometers of paths for walking, running, and cycling. Additional offerings include outdoor gym areas, volleyball courts, padel courts, and numerous water sports such as kayaking.
The sandy beach expanse has increased by 110%, now covering 182,000 square meters. Public amenities have surged by 400%, featuring 20 service points and eight recreational zones. The number of food outlets has also risen substantially to 19.
Safety measures have been bolstered with 12 lifeguard stations and 12 emergency call points to ensure visitors' well-being.
Dubai Municipality anticipates that the Al Mamzar Beaches project will draw up to 7 million visitors each year upon completion. This initiative is integral to a broader AED 3 billion beachfront development plan, which encompasses projects in Jumeirah and other coastal sites.
The project aligns with Dubai's long-term aspirations, including the Quality of Life Strategy 2033 and the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which aim to enhance public spaces, promote healthier living, and stimulate tourism growth.
Ultimately, Khor Al Mamzar Beach embodies Dubai's commitment to creating modern, inviting, and high-quality beachfront locations that cater to a global audience.
