UAE and India Forge Major Defence, Space, and Energy Agreements

During a working visit to India, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi were present for the signing of crucial agreements designed to enhance collaboration between their nations.

These agreements span several key industries, notably defence, space, energy, food security, and investments, emphasizing a broad strategic partnership.

Notably, a letter of intent was exchanged to create a strategic defence partnership, which strengthens the security ties between the two countries.

In the realm of space exploration, the UAE Space Agency joined hands with India's National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre through a letter of intent to foster development and commercial collaborations in the space industry.

In energy, a sales and purchase agreement was finalized between ADNOC Gas and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited of India, enhancing their cooperative efforts.

Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was established regarding food safety and technical standards between the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and India's Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority.

Investment partnerships were also boosted through a letter of intent between the UAE Ministry of Investment and Gujarat’s Government, aimed at the development of the Dholera Special Investment Region.

These agreements underline the expanding strategic partnership between the UAE and India across diverse fields.
