Karuppu Surpasses Rs 100 Crore Within Just 6 Days

Starring Suriya, Karuppu has quickly established itself as a major Tamil box office triumph in 2026. The fantasy action drama achieved the remarkable feat of crossing the Rs 100 crore milestone in Indian theaters just six days after its launch.

Directed by RJ Balaji, the film garnered Rs 10.3 crore on its sixth day alone in India. The Tamil version contributed significantly with Rs 8.55 crore, while the Telugu dubbed edition added Rs 1.75 crore to the overall earnings.

Making its debut on May 15, the film opened robustly, earning Rs 15.5 crore on its first day. The weekend proved highly profitable, as receipts surged to Rs 24.15 crore on the second day and Rs 28.35 crore on the third. Despite a dip during the weekdays, the film has maintained impressive box office consistency.

Trade forecasts indicate that the film earned Rs 14.3 crore on the fourth day and Rs 12.75 crore on the fifth, followed by another Rs 10.3 crore on Wednesday. As a result, the total net collection in India has soared to Rs 105.35 crore.

Moreover, the film has also performed admirably in international markets. On its sixth day, Karuppu raked in nearly Rs 3 crore globally, pushing its overseas gross collection to approximately Rs 54 crore, bringing the worldwide total to nearly Rs 176 crore.

Occupancy rates for the Tamil version remained exceptionally strong, particularly during the late-night shows, which reached an impressive 47 percent attendance. The Telugu release continues to show significant growth, especially in the afternoon and evening screenings.

In addition to Suriya, the film features Trisha Krishnan, Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, and Swasika in prominent roles. The outstanding word of mouth and enthusiastic audience response are key factors behind the film's successful run in theaters.
