Abu Dhabi’s Future Health initiative, in partnership with MIT Solve from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has proudly revealed five global finalists for the Future Health Challenge. This initiative signifies Abu Dhabi’s commitment to pioneering advancements in anticipatory healthcare systems as the global community grapples with issues such as chronic diseases and an ageing population.
With the theme “Building anticipatory health systems through population sensing,” the challenge seeks to cultivate groundbreaking solutions for early health risk detection, continuous monitoring, and a move towards preventive healthcare.
Finalists Overview
The chosen finalists showcase remarkable innovations from all corners of the globe:
SOIK Corporation (Japan): Launched SPAQ, an AI-driven, community-focused model aimed at identifying maternal health risks in underserved areas.
Huna (Brazil): Created Huna Cancer Navigator to utilize AI in analyzing routine blood results for improved early cancer detection and patient engagement.
ThinkMD (Australia): Developed a digital platform to enhance frontline healthcare while providing real-time public health insights.
Vector Control Innovations (USA): Introduced VectorCam, an AI-enabled mosquito surveillance system designed for predictive responses in resource-limited environments.
Arkangel AI (Colombia): Created Unread Signal, software that transforms clinical notes into early warning signals across over 300 hospitals worldwide.
Upcoming Events and Awards
These finalists will present their innovations at the World Health Assembly in Geneva on May 19. The winner will be awarded $200,000, with two runners-up receiving $50,000 each, alongside network opportunities with global health leaders and decision-makers.

Global Engagement
The challenge drew 393 submissions from 68 nations, underscoring the international alignment with Abu Dhabi’s vision for healthcare reform. The finalists were chosen through a comprehensive multi-stage evaluation process, which included live presentations from ten semi-finalists.
Notable Recognitions
Other semi-finalists received acknowledgment as well, including teams from countries like Malawi, the UAE, Switzerland, India, and Colombia. An impressive ten Honourable Mentions from nations such as India, South Africa, Nepal, and Kenya were also celebrated.
Future Engagements
Participants selected will be invited to showcase their innovative solutions at the upcoming Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit, slated for October 20–22, 2026, facilitating direct connections with key figures in global health and life sciences.
